Our series of Artist Talks continues on Thursday 27 February at 5.30pm, at the YMCA, Swansea, with one of Wales’ leading interdisciplinary artists, Marc Rees.

Marc will be talking about making art in Wales and his personal relationship with Swansea, as he shares his experiences of recent projects, including Adain Avion part of the ‘Artist Taking the Lead’ project for the Cultural Olympiad 2012, and upcoming projects including Raw Material: Llareggub Revisted; a National Theatre Wales re-imagining of the world of Under Milk Wood, which will include a live/broadcast event created by Marc Rees and Jon Tregenna, in collaboration with BBC Cymru Wales.

Bydd Marc yn siarad am wneud gwaith celf yng Nghymru a’i berthynas bersonol ag Abertawe, wrth iddo rannu ei brofiadau o brosiectau diweddar, gan gynnwys Adain Avion, rhan o brosiect ‘Artistiaid ar y Blaen’ Olympiad Diwylliannol 2012. Bydd hefyd yn sgwrsio am brosiectau sydd i ddod gan gynnwys Raw Material: Llareggub Revisted; lle bydd Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru yn creu byd dychmygol Dan y Wenallt, a fydd yn cynnwys digwyddiad byw/darllediad wedi’i greu gan Marc Rees a Jon Tregenna, mewn cydweithrediad â BBC Cymru.

Marc is one of Wales’s leading practitioners of contemporary performance and installation and we are thrilled he will be joining us to talk about his new work which forms part of the Dylan Thomas centenary celebration this year.

Our Artist Talks series complement our diverse exhibitions and events programme and we hope offer the community, specifically students and practising artists, the opportunity to hear Welsh artists and curators talk about their current practice and the community and landscapes that inspire them.

Mae ein cyfres o Sgyrsiau Artist yn mynd law yn llaw â’n harddangosfeydd a’n rhaglen ddigwyddiadau amrywiol ac rydym yn gobeithio eu bod yn rhoi cyfle i’r gymuned, yn arbennig myfyrwyr ac artistiaid, wrando ar artistiaid a churaduron o Gymru’n sôn am eu gweithgareddau presennol a’r gymuned a’r tirluniau sy’n eu hysbrydoli.
